Still time to give feedback on Local Plan Update
There’s just a few more days left for you to have your say on our draft Local Plan Update that will guide development and planning decisions in the area until 2040.
If you haven’t already, you will need to visit our website or view the documents at the Civic Offices in London Road, from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and in some libraries. The consultation closes on Monday 4 March.

Helping to grow skills in the borough
We’re offering local businesses and employees access to the free online learning platform SEEDL from Monday 4 March. The platform offers a diverse catalogue of online courses and also offer live courses, run by an instructor, so that participants can ask questions and get the most from the training.

Streets Alive public vote now open
Students from Queen Mary's College studying the Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma in Art and Design have created designs for the final Streets Alive bench in Winchester Street, Basingstoke. Their designs are being showcased to the public at Proteus Creation Space until tomorrow (Thursday 28 February), with the public encouraged to vote for their favourite design.

Step up for Couch to 2K
We are keen to help set up new Couch to 2km sessions and are looking at where they should take place. The eight-week course is designed for complete beginners who want to build up their fitness to walk or jog 2km. If you’re over 18 and interested contact our wellbeing engagement officer giving your name and the area of the borough you live in.
