The Crunch is on the move
*It’s week two of the Crunch* – let’s reset and start from scratch!
This Saturday, the mobile waste collection service will be coming to locations near you in each of the borough's five towns.
Do you have any excess general waste in black sacks or bulky waste items? Get your gloves on and bring them to one of the following locations on Saturday 20 July:
* *Billericay* - Carvers Wood CM11 2TJ
* *Wickford* - Kershaws Close SS12 0LJ
* *Laindon* - Southwell Link off Gower Chase SS15 5TZ
* *Craylands* - Jordan Way SS14 3QL
* *Pitsea* - Kenneth Road layby SS13 2AT

If you are registered for an assisted collection for your waste and recycling, or have significant health and mobility issues, please email *crunch@basildon.gov.uk* to arrange a collection of bulky waste. This service offer is to provide assistance to some of the borough's most vulnerable residents. If demand is high, it may take a few weeks to complete the collection.

We are celebrating a Summer of Sport with the annual Find Your Active Festival and a huge range of free and low-cost local sports and activities throughout the season.
As Team GB heads to Paris for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, let's be inspired by our sporting heroes and get active.
For the next nine weeks, enjoy a variety of low-cost and no-cost activities right here in the borough - there's something for everyone.
Each week we will publish a timetable of activities available across the borough, to encourage local people to discover a new sport or hobby.
Let’s make this a Summer to remember. Get out there, try something new, and enjoy our Summer of Sport!

Vue Basildon opens next week ahead of family fun day

On Thursday 25 July 2024, Vue Basildon will officially open!
The cinema's largest screen will hold more than 300 cinemagoers, with nine other screens showing the latest films, plus VIP and Recliner seating.
The East Square development is also home to Kaspa's Desserts, Nando's and Orleto Lounge, offering a variety of choice for visitors.
*Family Fun Day*
On Friday 2 August, Vue is hosting a Family Fun Day. Come along to enjoy a range of family friendly activities:
* Face painting, balloon modelling, a circus skills workshop and a community window colouring in event throughout the day
* Dino meet and greets at East Square – 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 3.30pm
* Ranger and baby dino meet and greets at East Square – 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm
* Dino story time at East Square – 11.45am, 12.15pm, 1.30pm, 2.15pm, 3.45pm
* Ranger and baby dino meet and greets at Eastgate Shopping Centre – 10.30am, 12pm, 1.30pm
* Ranger ride on fun at Eastgate Shopping Centre – 11.15am, 12.45pm, 14.15pm

Community Safety Survey 2024

The Big Charity Football Match
Big Charity football match poster
The Big Charity Football Match will take place on Sunday 11 August with Essex Freemasons FC playing the Brain Tumour Charity.
There will be a licenced bar, food, live singer and DJ, face painting, sweet stall, ice-cream van, raffle, and more.
All proceeds will go to Lennox Children's Cancer Fund and the Brain Tumour Charity.
The game will kick off at 3pm at Billericay Town FC, New Lodge, Blunts Wall Road, CM12 9SA.
