Basildon Council Cabinet meeting
Basildon Council’s Cabinet meeting takes place on Thursday 14 March.
On the agenda - proposals for new Community Diagnostic Centre in Pitsea, reducing waiting times for diagnostic tests including scanning and imaging facilities, and proposals to replace swimming pool floor at Basildon Sporting Village.

Garden Waste subscription service 2024/2025

You can now sign up to the weekly garden waste subscription service for 2024/2025.
The subscription will run from Monday 1 April 2024 to Monday 31 March 2025, charged at £50 for one green bin collection and £25 for each additional bin.
Together, we are making a difference to help to tackle climate change.

Welcome to your paper and cardboard recycling journey
Watch our short video to find out what happens to your paper and cardboard recycling after it's collected.
From December 2023 to February 2024, we have recycled 1,850 tonnes of paper and cardboard. This is the equivalent weight of approximately 271 mature oak trees, a natural beauty found throughout our borough.

The South Essex Business Expo takes place on *Thursday 14 March* at the Brentwood Centre, supported by all South Essex authorities.
The event is open to businesses of all sizes, trades, industries, professions and sectors, start-ups and pre-start-ups with something for everyone.
The free event is set to be the largest networking event in South Essex in 2024 with over 150 exhibitors and an expected 1,000 visitors.

Plan, shop, save workshop
Poster for the Plan, Shop, Save workshop - Clarion Futures
Join Clarion Futures at Basildon Council’s Advice Store to learn how to plan and budget your weekly meals, cost it out using simple templates and online tools, and get ideas for easy low-cost recipes.
The session will take place on Wednesday 13 March between 12.45pm to 2.45pm. Participants will take away a £40 Aldi shopping voucher to help put their new meal planning skills into action.
