Join us as we commemorate those that served during the D-Day operation in 1944. On Thursday 6 June at 8.45pm, we will be lighting the beacon at Gloucester Park in Basildon to mark the historic event.

The Advice Store construction careers fair

Basildon Council's Advice Store is hosting a careers event for those interested in working in the construction sector.
The event is open to anyone - whether you're wanting to enter or return to the sector, find your next job, or progress your career.
As well as the opportunity to meet local employers, there will also be training providers with free CSCS training for people aged 19 or over, level 1 and 2 construction skills for teenagers, and free construction project management training for those who want to get ahead.

Dementia Action Alliance drop-in events
Basildon and Billericay Dementia Action Alliance are hosting drop-in events on the following dates:
* Basildon Centre, St Martin’s Square from 10am to 2pm on Monday 13 May
* Humankind Café, Billericay from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday 14 May
Come along to meet with various charities specialising in Dementia support.

Andy's Man Club

Andy’s Man Club is a Men’s suicide prevention charity, offering support groups across the UK and online. They aim to end the stigma surrounding Men’s mental health and help them through the power of conversation.
Pop along to one of Andy’s Man Club’s free group sessions. No need to book, just come along for a friendly chat and listening ear.
Basildon's session takes place every Monday at 7pm, at Lincewood Primary School, Berry Ln, Langdon Hills, Basildon SS16 6AZ.
