Small Business Networking – Helping businesses in Basildon flourish

Whether you're a seasoned professional looking to expand your circle or a budding entrepreneur eager to make your mark, our monthly SME Networking event offers the perfect platform to connect, learn, and grow.

The events are held in partnership with Metro Bank and take place on the second Monday of each month (Starting 8 April).

The pathway to Net Zero is a tough one to navigate, and digitalisation is key to any manufacturing organisation in achieving resilience, profitability, sustainability and a competitive edge. The event explores the issues and challenges around digitalisation through thought leadership, practical steps and best practice to support your journey.

The roadshow will take place on Tuesday 23 April from 8.30am to 1.30pm.

Essex Business partnerships' next Wickford Networking Breakfast will take place at The Mist Cafe Bistro, High Street on Friday 5 April from 8am to 10 am.

Draft Waste Strategy for Essex: What it means for your business

On Tuesday 23 April, Essex County Council will be hosting a free lunch and learn session on the draft Waste Strategy for Essex and what it means for local businesses.

Attendees will have the chance to provide feedback, ask questions, and take part in discussions around challenges to shape future business support.

The session will also feature a slot on upcoming waste legislation changes. Experts will be on hand to help businesses prepare for these changes and take action as soon as possible.

Registration is now open for this virtual event taking place from 12.30pm to 1.30pm on Tuesday 23 April.

ACL Essex launches new Skills Bootcamps

ACL are thrilled to announce their first Skills Bootcamps.

These 12-week programmes are for individuals who are able to work at Level 3 and above (this is broadly in line with A-Levels) and who are looking to change career, enter employment or advance in their current role.

The aim is for participants to gain valuable skills and knowledge that will provide them with a fantastic base to move into new employment opportunities. Skills Bootcamp participants could be employed, unemployed or self-employed.

There are Skills Bootcamps in the following three sectors: 

  • Project Management for Construction: providing participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage projects, including initiating a project, project planning, and delivery.
  • Digital Marketing: participants will learn how to define, design, build, and implement digital marketing campaigns across various online and social media platforms.
  • Early Years: participants will gain a solid foundation in safeguarding, supporting children with special educational needs and child development in theory and practice.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service is committed to working with local businesses to reduce the number of deliberate and accidental fires in commercial premises.

The service’s dedicated Business Engagement team provide advice and support to Essex businesses in order to promote legal compliance (under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005), practical advice and direct support at business events across Essex.
