If you would like help to enrol, are wondering if a course is right for you, or want to make suggestions about future courses, we would love to see you. We are based in Penrith Library and are available most weekdays between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm, so please do pop in and see us, and encourage others to do the same.

Drop-in Crafts and Mindfulness sessions at Penrith Leisure Centre on 16th May
Dementia
This Thursday morning (16th May), Adult Learning will be at the Dementia Action Week Hub Event at Penrith Leisure Centre from 10 am to 1 pm. As well as being available to tell you about our courses, two of our tutors will be running free sessions. Karen MacDougall is running a drop-in craft session, where you can make paper flowers and share memories. Jane Hodgkinson, our Mindfulness tutor is running a short introductory mindfulness sessions entitled
"What is Mindfulness? How does it link to movement and posture?”. She will be running this twice, at 10.30 am and 12 noon, and will be available the rest of the time to talk about mindfulness and how it may help you. The event is free to attend and we would love to see you there.
Coming soon
We will shortly be advertising a FREE fun and informative half-day workshop for parents and carers who want to introduce maths to their young children but are not sure how. Our Art tutor, Karen will be teaching people how to make art using shapes and numbers, and Penrith’s Library Outreach Project Officer, Claire Dougherty will be showing simple ways of introducing maths into story time from a story book. Information, Advice and Guidance
Adult Learning has a duty of care to provide potential learners with impartial information, advice and guidance. We aim to help you make informed decisions about the suitability of any study programme to meet your needs and aspirations.
This plays a role in making sure that you enrol on a course that suits your need best at that point in time. It is based on looking your individual needs and mutually agreeing the best way forward to you; we hope to be able to support you through our extensive range of courses, however, this may actually involve us advising that another provider can support you better at that point in time.
