Introducing Lorna Jones: SEND Engagement & Development Officer
Lorna Jones
My name is Lorna Jones and I am the new SEND Engagement and Development officer for Westmorland and Furness. I have worked in the council for 10 years, previously as a social worker for children with disabilities. I am really excited about my new role and working with the families in our community who have a child with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, hearing their stories and working with them to help shape and improve our service and partnership offer.
As part of my role I want to be available to all parents, carers, professionals, partners, and of course, the children and young people I will be working with, getting to know them and learning about what works, or doesn’t work, for them. I would like to visit schools, children’s centres, youth groups and other services and activities to introduce myself and give people a chance to have a chat with me.
