We wanted to say thank you to everyone who attended and supported our D-Day 80 Commemorative Ceremony at Ashford Memorial Gardens on 6 June, to mark the 80th anniversary of a historical day when Allied forces mounted the largest amphibious invasion the world has ever witnessed.

Rays of sunlight shone down on the Floral Spitfire as attendees, veterans and dignitaries listened to a service led by by the RBL Chaplain Rev. Dr Sue Starkings which included a performance by the choir of East Stour Primary School and a reading by an Ashford School pupil of the specially written D-Day 80 Heroes Poem for Schools.

This week is of course Armed Forces Week and if you'd like to show your support locally, an event will be taking place on Sunday 30 June at Victoria Park, Jemmett Road between 10am-5pm featuring live music, refreshments, displays, a raffle and more.
