Taste of Wigton
Taste Cumbria is returning to Wigton for a one-day event on Saturday 20 April. Most of the event will be found on Water Street Car Park where there will be producers stalls, hot foods stalls, live music, kids activities and fairground rides. Over in the Market Hall there will also be a youth market. If you would like to find out which traders will be attending Taste of Wigton, look at the list of traders online via the link below.
There are many children activities to get involved with at the events. You can find the Magic show, Balloon modelling, Circus workshop and Street art with Beardy Synergy all on Water Street Car Park. You can also be in with a chance to win a Samsung tablet by taking part in a Teddy Bear Hunt. All the information you need for the Teddy Bear Hunt will be in the Market Hall.

We close part of Water Street car park for the Wigton festival. Restrictions will apply from Thursday 18 April at 5pm until Sunday 21 April at 7am. If you have any questions please call 01900 702524.
Part of Water Street Car Park can still be accessed for parking during the event.
There is also additional parking provided at The Nelson Thompson Secondary School (High St, Wigton CA7 9PX) for free.
*Wine and Cheese night*
Cheese tasting - Torpenhow Dairy
*Friday 19 April, 7pm – 8.30pm *
*Location* - The Barista Cafe, Wigton
Taste 3 wines and 3 cheeses from brilliant local businesses Shills of Cockermouth and Torpenhow Dairy, respectively. Guests will learn about each wine and cheese and what goes well with both. Guests will also be treated to charcuterie boards kindly laid on by The Barista team.
There is a maximum of 6 tickets per booking and tickets are £20 per person.

Join Kate Walby in conversation with Helen Rebanks at the Taste Cumbria 2024 Wigton event.
Helen Rebanks, whose first book The Farmer’s Wife: My Life in Days is a Sunday Times bestseller, farms at Matterdale near Ullswater with her husband James, who shone a spotlight on their family and work on Twitter where he is known as Herdy Shepherd. Helen’s book is a proud memoir, interspersed with the recipes which have played a part in her life.
