Playtime with Books
Books
Cumberland has the exciting opportunity to work with the highly respected national education research organisation, PEDAL, on the development of a new programme called ‘Playtime with Books’.
Playtime with Books supports parents/carers over a 6-8 week period to playfully share and explore books with their 10 -24 month old children. This programme will be delivered completely remotely using digital technology, so is ideal for rural families and those who find it difficult to come into the setting often.
More information is available here - The Playtime with Books programme - PEDAL (pedalhub.net) [
]
*We are looking to recruit early years practitioners to be facilitators on the programme. This will involve taking part in training in July and then being matched with a family (or families) to trial the programme together. *
This is an exciting CPD opportunity for you, or a member of your team, to receive training in interactive book sharing for young children and to contribute to the development of a new early years programme.
If you would like to take part, or have any questions, please email Katie.Clarke@Cumberland.gov.uk by 7th June

Covid Enquiry – Tell My Story
Covid

Anyone can share their story and experiences of the pandemic, this is especially important as the inquiry opens it’s investigation into the impact of the pandemic on children and young people:
