Improvements on A1079 near Pocklington
Road
Road improvements are due to be carried out on a section of the main A1079 York-to-Hull road at Hayton, near Pocklington.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is to invest £300,000 on a scheme to upgrade the road surface along York Road, Hayton.
The project is due to start on Tuesday 7 May and last for four weeks, weather permitting, during weekdays from 9.30am-3.30pm - avoiding morning and afternoon rush hours.
The work will involve resurfacing the existing road under temporary traffic signals, with a convoy system in operation to protect the workforce.
This will only be in operation during the working hours and will be removed at the end of each working day.

Unpaid carers survey - tell us how we can support you
Unpaid carer
To help deliver the support needed by unpaid carers in the East Riding, the council would like to hear about the experiences, needs and views on the services available, received or needed by unpaid carers.
The feedback will help to inform the new unpaid carers strategy, to shape and deliver the best services and outcomes for unpaid carers and the people they care for.
It is estimated that there are over 46,000 unpaid carers in the East Riding. 4,000 carers are receiving support through the Carers Support Service.

*Consultation launches on the use of domestic wood burners*
burning wood [
]
East Riding of Yorkshire Council and the University of Hull have launched a consultation to understand the use of wood burning stoves, or other solid fuel heating, in local households.
The project aims to better understand the burning of solid fuels in East Riding households, looking at why people burn solid fuels and the types of solid fuels used.
Findings from the consultation will be used to support future work to improve air quality and domestic energy efficiency.

Collecting for Jackie [
]
Collecting for Jackie scheme
The Collecting for Jackie scheme enables people across the region to access free period products, whenever they need them, by visiting their nearest library, customer service centre, or mobile library.
When visiting, tell a member of staff that you are 'collecting a parcel for Jackie'. You can complete a short questionnaire to specify the products you would like, or simply tell the member of staff if you'd prefer pads, tampons, or both. Your products will be given to you in a plain paper bag.
There is no limit to how many times the scheme can be used.
