Gilston Area Community Forum - Next Week

The Gilston Area Community Forum - will take place from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday, 27 February at Gilston and Eastwick village hall. 

This meeting will bring together residents, planners, local councillors and developers to discuss and share information about housing developments planned for East Herts.

It will also give residents the opportunity to share information on community projects and to highlight other issues of concern to their local communities.

Neighbourhood Watch: Fraud & Cyber Crime

Nobody is immune from fraud and cyber crime. The criminals behind it target people online and in their homes, often emotionally manipulating their victims before they steal money or personal data.

But there is something we can do. By staying vigilant and always taking a moment to stop, think and check whenever we’re approached by text, email, phone, or online, we can help to protect ourselves and each other from fraud and our accounts from being hacked.

Hertfordshire Police has been running cybercrime and fraud prevention sessions at libraries in main towns and cities. Get advice in person at a library near you:

Borehamwood, Wednesday 6th March 2024
Hitchin, Friday 19th April 2024
Stevenage, Thursday 16th May 2024
Watford Central, Wednesday 5th June 2024
Bishops Stortford, Thursday 4th July 2024

Drop-in Sessions

Healthy Hub East Herts is running drop-in sessions across the district for residents to pop in for FREE help and advice about anything they would like support with. 

The next Healthy Hub session will take place at Buntingford Library on Tuesday, 5 March from 10am - 2pm, before then taking place at Hertford Library on Thursday, 7 March from 2pm - 4pm.


In addition, you can visit us in person in Hertford every Tuesday and Friday between 9am and 4pm.  We'll be at the Skills & Learning Centre, 67 Fore street, Hertford SG14 1AL.

Community Kitchen

This free 5 week workshop is for families with children aged 5-12 who would like to learn how to cook healthy, simple meals while spending time together as a family.

JustTalk - The Power of Small Changes

 The Power of Small Changes campaign running is from 26 February to 18 March.
 
Children, young people and their families across Hertfordshire are invited to take part in a challenge to make easy everyday changes, such as taking a short walk or giving someone a compliment, to see how easy it can be to improve wellbeing.
 
Families, young people and primary schools can take part in the challenge, from 26 February 2024, with the chance to win a £50 Amazon voucher! 
 
Just Talk is a partnership of 50+ organisations in health, social care, education and voluntary sectors across Hertfordshire. Just Talk’s mission is to strengthen understanding of emotional wellbeing and empower young people and their families on their journey towards better mental health.
