A note about our Short Breaks Service
*Position Statement – Targeted Short Breaks May 2024*
Targeted Short Breaks is a service that is intended to offer activities for children and young people with SEND in the Cumberland area.
As we move through 2024, we will be consulting with parents, carers, young people and providers to learn more about how we can improve the service offered, making it more easily and accessible and ensuring we review the offer to ensure it meets the needs of those who require it.
It is anticipated that over the next 12 months we will see a steady improvement in the way in which people access the Targeted Short Breaks. We are committed to ensuring this service meets the needs of as many children and families it is intended for as possible and provides activities that contribute to young people’s wellbeing as well as providing a short break for families and carers.
We welcome feedback and will be in touch with progress and opportunities for you to share your thoughts.
"- Phillipa Homes, Assistant Director of Children and Families"
"- Emma Hamer, Assistant Director of SEND, Education and Inclusion"
