Did you know that if you are on a low income or receive a benefit such as Universal Credit, then you may be entitled to a reduction in your council tax - through our Council Tax Reduction Scheme?
An entitlement to Universal Credit or other benefits, does not always mean that people automatically get awarded CTR, and therefore people may have to apply for it. There is a website available at https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators for people to check to see if they are entitled to a variety of benefits, including CTR.
If you are not receiving CTR and are on a low income, we encourage you to check if you may be eligible and make an application. The quickest and easiest way to apply is online: Before you make a claim | Cumberland Council.
