Local elections are being held this Thursday 2 May

Brentwood Borough Council elections are taking place alongside the Police, Fire, and Crime Commissioner elections for the Essex Police Area this Thursday 2 May 2024.
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has carried out a review of the ward arrangements in the Brentwood Borough. This means that from May 2024, the Borough will be divided into 13 wards, each of which will have three Borough councillors.
All 39 Borough Council seats will be contested at the elections on Thursday 2 May.

Don't forget to post your postal vote!
Voting options
If you are unable to post your vote, you have the option to deliver it in person at Brentwood Town Hall during regular operating hours or at your designated polling station on Thursday 2 May.
When delivering your vote in person, please ensure to fill out a declaration form. You will need to include your name and address, how many postal votes you are handing in and why you are handing in those postal votes.
Campaigners can only hand in their own postal vote, and postal votes for up to five other people that are either close relatives, or someone they provide regular care for.

Remember your photo ID
Voter ID
You need to show photo identification (ID) to vote at a polling station for the local elections and Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner elections on Thursday 2 May.
*Which forms of ID can I use to vote?*
You may already have a form of photo ID that is acceptable. You can use any of the following:
* Passport
* Driving licence (including provisional license)
* Blue badge
* Certain concessionary travel cards
* Identity card with PASS mark (Proof of Age Standards Scheme)
* Biometric Immigration document
* Defence identity card
* Certain national identity cards
You will only need to show one form of photo ID, but it needs to be the original version and not a photocopy. The name on your ID must be the same name you used to register to vote.
If you've designated a trusted individual to vote on your behalf through a proxy vote, they must also present their own approved Photo ID at the polling station.
