GEARING UP FOR THE GREAT BIRMINGHAM RUN

Good luck to all those taking part in the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run on Sunday 5 May

Around 12,500 runners will tackle either the half-marathon or 10K distance with Junior and Mini options for younger runners. The aim is to inspire more people to get active more regularly – and many runners will be raising money for local and national charities.

BRITISH KABADDI LEAGUE GRAND FINAL TAKING PLACE IN BIRMINGHAM

The League Grand Final takes place on 18 and 19 May

Tickets are now on sale which are £5 for adults and £2.50 for a child. Bookings can be made by calling 0121 464 4373 or collecting in person from Nechells Wellbeing Centre, Rupert Street, Nechells B7 4AR.

If you are scheduled a collection, please put your bin(s) out as normal.

INFORMING DEPARTMENT FOR WORK AND PENSIONS ABOUT RENT INCREASE

You will need to complete this on or after 1 April 2024

If you are a Birmingham City Council tenant and claiming Universal Credit housing costs, you must let the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) know about your rent increase.

RESULTS OF THE WEST MIDLANDS ELECTIONS 2024

The polls are now closed with votes being counted and verified

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) will announce the mayoral and Police and Crime Commissioner results live on the afternoon of Saturday 4 May. You can find out more via their social media channels.


The Birmingham by-elections for Bournbrook & Selly Park have been announced today (Friday 3 May).
